Look, we’re not going to pretend this weekend is anything other than what it is — Pride Weekend in Long Beach, baby, and this city does it better than anywhere. The 43rd Annual Long Beach Pride Parade kicks off Sunday morning at 10am on Ocean Blvd, and the Long Beach Pride Festival is taking over Marina Green Park all weekend long under the theme “Fearless and Free.” If you want to kick things off Saturday night, the Long Beach Womxn’s Pride Party at Shannon’s At The Top is going to be a whole moment. And if you need somewhere to land after the parade Sunday, Gateway to Pride at The Current Plaza has you covered.
Basically, Long Beach is putting on for its community this weekend and you should absolutely be out there for it.
BUT. If Pride isn’t your scene this weekend, or you want to mix it up beyond the festival grounds, Long Beach has got plenty of other things going on — from a free record swap to a Frank Sinatra burlesque show to a full-day women’s wellness retreat. Here’s what else is happening:
Brushes & Brews
Saturday, May 16 | 7am–1pm Doly’s Delectables, 245 E Broadway, Long Beach
Start your Saturday morning with something that’ll make you feel good about humanity. Doly’s Delectables is hosting a youth art exhibition featuring some seriously talented young artists — and yes, there is coffee and pastries involved, so you really have no excuse not to go. Parking is free on Saturdays, so roll up early, grab your cup, and take in the work of the next generation of Long Beach creatives. It’s sweet, it’s community-driven, and it’s the most wholesome way to kick off what is going to be a very full weekend.
Sports Basement Great Outdoor Fest
Saturday, May 16 | 9am–1pm Sports Basement Long Beach, 2100 N Bellflower Blvd, Long Beach
If you’ve been eyeing new gear or just want to nerd out with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, Sports Basement’s Great Outdoor Fest is where you need to be Saturday morning. Meet your favorite brands, get deals on the newest equipment, and enjoy some beer — yes, beer, at 9am, we don’t make the rules. Whether you’re a hardcore hiker, a weekend camper, or just someone who likes the idea of being outdoorsy while standing next to really nice gear, this free event is a great way to spend your morning. The 5 Gyres team will also be on hand if you’re into ocean conservation and protecting our coastline (which, as Long Beach locals, we should all be).
Alex’s Bar Record Swap
Saturday, May 16 | 1–6pm Alex’s Bar, 2913 E Anaheim St, Long Beach Free | 21+
This is the afternoon hang at Alex’s Bar Record Swap. Over 20 local vendors set up inside one of Long Beach’s most beloved music venues, selling records, tapes, merch, and whatever other buried treasure you didn’t know you needed. Live vinyl DJs spin all day, there’s pizza on site, and the full bar is open, so even if you walk out empty-handed, you still had a great Saturday afternoon. Whether you’re a serious collector who knows exactly what you’re hunting for or you just like the vibe of flipping through crates with nowhere to be — this one’s for you. Free to get in, 21+ only.
Swoonatra: A Live Band Burlesque Tribute to Frank Sinatra
Saturday, May 16 | 8–11pm Harvelle’s Long Beach, 201 E Broadway, Long Beach
Okay, this is your Saturday night plans, full stop. Swoonatra brings Sinatra’s timeless catalog to life with velvet-voiced crooner Trevor Kelly, the swinging sounds of Mr. Man, and the glamour and tease of Dirty Little Secrets Burlesque. We’re talking big band classics, smoky late-night ballads, feathers, finesse, and just the right amount of mischief. Sharp suits, red lipstick, whiskey neat. Vintage class meets modern seduction — and everyone leaves a little weak in the knees. Harvelle’s is an intimate venue so this is going to feel like a proper night out, not a stadium show. Get there, get dressed, and get into it.
The Reset: A Mental Wellness Day Retreat for Women
Sunday, May 17 | 10am–4pm The Loft – Long Beach, 3290 Cherry Ave, Long Beach Tickets: $195
Listen, if you’ve been running on empty, pouring into everyone else, and haven’t taken a real breath since approximately 2023 — this Sunday event was made for you. The Reset is a full-day women’s wellness retreat hosted by The Connection Strategist™, and it is not a conference, it is not a hustle-culture workshop, and nobody is going to ask you to network. It’s an intentional, judgment-free, women-only space designed to help you actually come back to yourself.
The day includes a grounding opening and intention-setting, a guided mental health session with real tools you can actually use, gentle movement, complimentary mini massages, a sound bath, a signature intention bouquet experience you’ll make and take home, curated wellness vendors, guided journaling, and a closing ceremony. Oh, and breakfast and lunch are included. All of that for one ticket price.
Space is intentionally limited to keep it intimate. Once it’s full, it’s full — so don’t sleep on it.
Wrap It Up, Long Beach
Whether you’re painting the town in rainbow glitter at the Pride Festival, digging for records at Alex’s Bar, or finally taking a Sunday to pour back into yourself at The Reset — this weekend in Long Beach is giving options. There is genuinely something for every version of yourself this weekend, and that’s exactly why this city never gets old.
