Jump to the Good Stuff
Halloween in Long Beach lands on a Saturday this year (finally), Día de los Muertos kicks off Sunday, and daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Clocks fall back one hour. Translation: you get a bonus hour to recover from whatever your costume talked you into. Use it wisely. Or don’t. We’re not your mom.
We pulled together the best things to do in Long Beach this weekend, from Halloween events in Long Beach for the little monsters to a silent vampire classic with a live orchestra, a citywide Día de los Muertos festival and a cumbia drag night honoring Latin legends.
Still hunting for Halloween bar crawls, costume parties or more Halloween events in Long Beach? We rounded up all of it in our Halloween in Long Beach guide. Go. Get spooky.
Saturday, Oct. 31: Halloween in Long Beach
Trick or Treat Fest at Mark Twain Library

Costumes on, candy out. The library is setting up candy stations, mummy and spider crafts and spooky-season activities for kids. It’s one of the easiest things to do in Long Beach for Halloween with little ones, and it wraps up early enough to rest up before the real trick-or-treating starts.
Nosferatu With a Live Score at the Art Theatre

Where: Art Theatre of Long Beach, 2025 E. Fourth St., Long Beach

The OG vampire. F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent horror classic hits the big screen at Long Beach’s century-old single-screen theater while the Jack Curtis Dubowsky Ensemble performs an original score live. This is an annual Halloween tradition, and it sells out, so buy tickets now, not at 6:45 p.m. while you’re still gluing on your fangs.
Sunday, Nov. 1: Día de los Muertos in Long Beach

Election Day is Tuesday, and if your shoulders are up around your ears, Pueblita has you covered. The morning includes a 45-minute community yoga flow, a talk with a therapist about handling election anxiety and a community organizer on why local elections matter. It’s nonpartisan, so it’s not about who you vote for. It’s about showing up informed and a little less stressed. No yoga experience needed.
Kidical Mass Zombie Ride

Bixby Knolls’ annual Zombie Ride is back, Día de los Muertos edition. Show up early and the makeup artists will zombify you before the family bike ride heads into the neighborhood. The ride is rain-dependent, so check the Bixby Knolls BIA’s social media before you go.
