Halloween in Long Beach

Things to Do This Halloween Week in Long Beach: Oct 27–31

We all know about the Queen Mary and her infamous Dark Harbor—ghosts, ghouls, and gallons of jump scares right? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good haunted ship moment as much as the next Long Beach local, but if you’ve been here as long as I have, you know the LBC doesn’t stop there. Every corner of this city turns into something spooky, silly, or straight-up spectacular during Halloween week. From pumpkin patches that smell like kettle corn to pop-up bars that look like Tim Burton’s fever dream, there’s a whole lot going on beyond the boat.

So grab your friends (and your kids!), pull on something festive, and let’s make a week of it.

Pa’s Pumpkin Patch on Monday

Start your Halloween week off with a classic. Take the kids—or your bestie who still acts like one—to Pa’s Pumpkin Patch. Technically it’s in Lakewood, but if you’ve been around Long Beach long enough, you know Pa’s has been our pumpkin patch for more than forty years. It’s got everything you remember—haystacks, corn stalks, gourds, funnel cakes, and that unmistakable carnival smell that makes you buy things you didn’t know you wanted.

This place is an absolute dream for little ones, with more than 28 attractions designed for your little muffin. There’s a petting zoo, live pony rides, and a toddler tent filled with games and activities. The rides are the kind you’ll actually want to watch them go on—like the Big Bounce, Dragon Race, Mirror Maze, Train, and my personal favorite, the Jolly Choo-Choo. You’ll buy a bundle of tickets at the gate (rides range from 1–4 tickets each), and admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids under 13, and free for those adorable toddlers under 3.

And don’t even get me started on the snack bar—it’s full-on carnival mode with BBQ, tacos, funnel cakes, and everything fried. You’ll need a nap after. Pa’s is the perfect Monday spot to ease into Halloween week without the chaos of downtown crowds. Bring your camera, because between the rides, the lights, and the pumpkin stacks, you’ll get some seriously Instagram-worthy shots.

Location: Lakewood Center, 500 Lakewood Center Mall (in front of JCPenney)
Hours: Open daily | No reservations required
Admission: $5 adults | $3 kids under 13 | Free under 3
Parking: Anywhere in the Lakewood Center Mall lots

The Black Lagoon on Tuesday

Tuesday is for grown-ups (or at least for pretending to be one while sipping something that glows). Head downtown and step straight into another world at The Black Lagoon at The Ordinarie—Long Beach’s own haunted cocktail takeover that’s equal parts creepy, creative, and completely unhinged in the best way possible.

The entire space has been transformed into what feels like a haunted pirate tavern collided with an underwater nightmare. Think fog machines, flickering candles, tentacle decor, glowing blue lights, and bartenders dressed like sea-sorcerers serving drinks with names like The Grave Digger and Creature of the Lagoon. Every inch of the place is drenched in atmosphere—dark, moody, and just mysterious enough to make you forget it’s only Tuesday.

This pop-up runs through Halloween, but if you go early in the week, you’ll actually be able to snag a seat and take in all the spooky details before the weekend rush hits. It’s the kind of spot where locals mingle with tourists, everyone’s in costume (or costume-adjacent), and the playlist is pure Halloween nostalgia—heavy on the Misfits, Siouxsie, and a little Ghostbusters thrown in just for irony.

Food-wise, The Ordinarie still serves their signature comfort dishes—yes, the fried chicken sandwich is still on the menu—and they’ve added a few sinister surprises just for the season. If you’re not into the full bar scene, grab a table, order one of the themed cocktails (try the smoky Lair of the Kraken if you’re feeling brave), and people-watch to your heart’s content.

This is not your average Halloween pop-up—it’s an experience. Perfect for date night, drinks with the girls, or just a solo escape into another dimension.

Location: The Ordinarie, 210 The Promenade N, Downtown Long Beach
Hours: Evenings through Halloween | 5 PM – Late
Admission: Free (21+ only)
Pro Tip: Go early in the week for shorter lines and stronger pours.

Paniq Escape Room + Malainey’s on Wednesday

By Wednesday, you’ve earned yourself a midweek adventure—and Long Beach is ready to deliver. This is the day to mix a little business with a little pleasure (and maybe a mild scream or two).

Start your night at the Long Beach Young Professionals Halloween Mixer at Paniq Escape Room. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Networking? On a Wednesday? During Halloween week?” But trust me—this is not your average exchange-business-cards kind of event. You’ll be solving spooky puzzles, breaking out of rooms, and bonding over jump scares with total strangers who might just become your new business besties.

It’s all happening in downtown Long Beach, right on Pine, where the vibe is energetic but not chaotic. The team at Paniq goes all out for Halloween, with themed rooms like The Haunted Manor and The Voodoo Shack—complete with creepy props, eerie lighting, and enough suspense to make you question your life choices in the best way possible. Whether you escape or not, you’ll at least leave with a story (and probably a cocktail).

Once you’ve escaped—or dramatically failed to—head over to Malainey’s Grill in Alamitos Bay for their Halloween Bash. It’s the kind of spot where locals and regulars collide for one big, costume-filled dance floor. There’s live music, drink specials, and a crowd that knows how to party without taking themselves too seriously. The view of the marina at night, mixed with twinkling lights and the faint sound of waves, makes it the perfect low-stress way to roll into the back half of the week.

Malainey’s does Halloween right: fun costumes, zero pretense, and bartenders who pour like it’s the last day of October (which, technically, it almost is). Grab a burger, snag a seat on the patio, and watch the chaos unfold.

Paniq Escape Room Mixer
Location: 327 Pine Ave, Downtown Long Beach
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 PM

Malainey’s Grill Halloween Bash
Location: 168 N Marina Dr, Alamitos Bay
Time: 6 PM – Late

Halloween on Pine Avenue on Thursday

Let’s be honest—weekends in Long Beach actually start on Thursday. We all know it. The city starts buzzing, and suddenly everyone decides that whatever they were supposed to do Friday morning can absolutely wait. Work? Overrated. You’ll survive on cold brew and regret.

Thursday night is when downtown Long Beach becomes Halloween central. Pine Ave transforms into one big block of energy—music spilling out of bars, costumes everywhere, and that signature mix of excitement and “how did I end up here?” that only Long Beach can pull off.

The whole strip is alive—music blasting from open doors, costumed crowds spilling onto sidewalks, and that classic LBC mix of chaos and charm. Whether you’re there for the dance floors, the drinks, or just the people-watching, Thursday night is your warm-up.

Agaves Ultra Lounge – “Thriller: Pre-Halloween Party” (18+)
Costumes on, lights low, vibes high. Agaves is where Halloween weekend really kicks off. The Thriller Pre-Halloween Party brings the best of downtown nightlife—pulsing reggaeton, hip-hop, and house beats spun by top DJs, strobe lights bouncing off every sequin, and a crowd that knows how to bring the energy. Doors open at 9 PM, and if you’re planning to go all out (you should), book a bottle-service table early—it’s one of the most in-demand nights of the year.
Location: Agaves Ultra Lounge, 200 Pine Ave
Time: Doors 9 PM | 18+ to enter | 21+ to drink

Alegria Cocina Latina – FUSE Halloween Costume Party (18+)
By day, Alegria is all sangria and tapas. By night—especially this night—it’s pure nightclub chaos. The FUSE Halloween Costume Party starts at 10 PM and runs straight through 2 AM. Expect flashing lights, packed dance floors, and costumes so good you’ll wish you’d tried harder. Get your tickets on Eventbrite before they vanish; this one always fills up.
Location: Alegria Cocina Latina, 115 Pine Ave
Time: 10 PM – 2 AM

Café Sevilla – Pre-Halloween Party (21+)
A few doors down, Café Sevilla turns its sultry Spanish restaurant into a haunted dance haven. Upstairs, the lounge transforms into a glowing red cave of bass and cocktails, while downstairs stays full of tapas, sangria, and mischief. Arrive early—the first hour guarantees free entry, and trust me, it’s worth it. This one’s got that perfect balance of classy and crazy.
Location: Café Sevilla, 140 Pine Ave
Time: 10 PM – 11:59 PM

By midnight, Pine Avenue feels like one massive block party. Pirates are ordering tacos, angels are losing wings, and someone in a glow-in-the-dark skeleton suit is definitely leading an impromptu conga line. It’s chaotic, hilarious, and so perfectly Long Beach.

Pro Tip: Skip the parking headache and grab a rideshare—or park in the Broadway structure and enjoy the stroll. You’ll see the whole scene unfold, and maybe convince yourself that calling in “sick” tomorrow is self-care.

Friday, October 31 — Halloween Day & Night

It’s finally here — the day Long Beach turns into one big, beautiful, chaotic costume party. Whether you’re chasing toddlers through a pumpkin patch or zombies through downtown, the LBC’s got you covered from sunrise to way past last call.

Daytime: Family-Friendly Fun

Start your afternoon at the Billie Jean King Main Library for their Kids Halloween Parade, where you’ll see the tiniest ghosts and superheroes marching through the library like they own the place. It’s cute, it’s chaotic, and it’s a sugar-high waiting to happen.
Location: 200 W Broadway
Time: 3:00 – 4:30 PM
Admission: Free

Then keep your afternoon going with your kids at the 2nd Street Trick-or-Treat in Belmont Shore. From 4 to 6 PM, 2nd Street turns into a candy-coated wonderland as local businesses open their doors to tiny witches and sugar-fueled dinosaurs. Participating shops will have jack-o-lantern signs in their windows, and the whole strip feels like a scene from a coastal Halloween movie — palm trees, ocean breeze, and kids running wild in costumes that are already falling apart by 5 PM.

There’s a photo booth near Chase Bank, plenty of family-friendly spots for dinner or dessert (Simmzy’s and Frosted Cupcakery are crowd favorites), and parents who have mastered the art of “just one more block.” It’s the perfect way to celebrate Halloween before the big kids take over the night shift.

Location: 2nd Street, Belmont Shore (look for the jack-o-lantern window signs)
Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Admission: Free
Pro Tip: Get there early for parking — or better yet, rideshare and make it a mini-adventure. Grab an early dinner nearby and watch the sunset over the marina before the chaos kicks in.

Nighttime: The Big Show

Once the sun sets, Long Beach goes full throttle.

Long Beach Zombie Crawl
Ten bars, hundreds of zombies, and a downtown packed with fake blood and unbothered onlookers. Check-in at Altar Society Brewing and brace yourself — you won’t see Pine Ave the same way again.
Check-In: Altar Society Brewing, 230 Pine Ave
Time: 7 PM – 2 AM

Official Long Beach Halloween Bar Crawl
If zombies aren’t your thing, this is your cleaner, cuter option. Costumes, contests, and cocktails everywhere you turn.
Location: Various Downtown Bars
Time: 5 PM – Late

Gaslamp Halloween Party w/ Knyght Ryder
Not feeling the downtown chaos? Head east to The Gaslamp for a live ’80s cover band, neon nostalgia, and a costume contest that brings serious competition.
Location: 6251 E Pacific Coast Hwy
Time: 9 PM

The Wrap-Up for Halloween in Long Beach 2025

That’s a wrap on Halloween week in the LBC — a perfect mix of pumpkin patches, parades, and parties that’ll leave you equal parts exhausted and exhilarated. No matter how you do it, Long Beach finds a way to make Halloween feel like its own holiday season.

Because that’s just who we are here: we go big for the fun stuff. We celebrate our neighborhoods, we support local spots, and we never miss a chance to throw on a costume and get a little weird together.

So whether you’re ending your night with tired kids and candy wrappers in the car, or stumbling out of Pine Ave wondering where your wings went, remember — this city’s got spirit (and not just the spooky kind).

Happy Halloween, Long Beach. See you out there — and don’t worry, coffee’s got your back on Monday.
