Alright Long Beach—if your brain is fried, your calendar is empty, and you’re dangerously close to doom-scrolling your entire weekend away, we’ve got you. This weekend is quietly stacked with events that actually feel good—community-driven, creative, soulful, weird in the best way, and very much not a giant corporate street fair with $18 lemonades.
We’re talking inclusive festivals, artsy swaps, nostalgic live music, mushroom magic, and smooth R&B nights that make you want to text your group chat “we’re going out.” Here’s what’s worth leaving the house for.
Festival of Human Abilities
Aquarium of the Pacific
100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802
Saturday & Sunday, January 24–25, 2026
This is one of those events that reminds you why community actually matters.
The Festival of Human Abilities is a two-day celebration of artists, performers, athletes, and creators with disabilities—and it’s genuinely one of the most joyful, inspiring events Long Beach hosts. Expect live music, dance performances, interactive exhibits, adaptive demonstrations, and hands-on activities for all ages.
It’s inclusive, thoughtful, and welcoming without being performative. Bonus: it’s included with Aquarium admission, so you’re getting culture and sea lions in one go.
Bring the kids. Bring your parents. Bring your perspective.
Arts & Crafts Supply Swap
Recreational Coffee
237 Long Beach Blvd, Suite A, Long Beach, CA 90802
Saturday, January 24, 2026
If you have a drawer full of craft supplies you swore you’d use during your “creative era,” this one’s for you.
This community-led arts and crafts supply swap is exactly what it sounds like: bring gently used or unused materials, trade them, share them, or just show up and vibe with other creative humans. It’s low-pressure, low-cost, and very Long Beach-coded.
Even if you don’t bring anything, it’s worth popping in for the conversations alone. Plus, Recreational Coffee is always a solid excuse to caffeinate and pretend you’re being productive.
90’s Night – Tribute Bands
Harvelle’s Long Beach
201 E Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802
Saturday, January 24, 2026
If you miss the era of alternative rock, questionable hair choices, and feelings you didn’t know how to process yet—Harvelle’s has you covered.
This 90’s Night brings live tribute bands honoring Radiohead, Incubus, and Arctic Monkeys (yes, we’re stretching the decade a little, but we’ll allow it). It’s loud, nostalgic, and exactly the kind of night where you suddenly remember every lyric you thought you forgot.
21+ venue, two-drink minimum, and very much a “let’s make a night of it” situation.
CULTIVATE! A Mushroom-Inspired Gathering
408 E 1st Street, Long Beach, CA 90802
Saturday, January 24, 2026
This one’s for the curious minds, the wellness folks, the plant parents, and anyone who’s ever said, “I just want to learn something cool.”
CULTIVATE! is an immersive, mushroom-inspired gathering that blends education, culture, art, and community. Expect vendors, speakers, DJs, a plant bar, and conversations that somehow manage to be both grounded and expansive.
It’s thoughtful without being stuffy. Educational without being boring. And honestly? One of the most interesting events happening this weekend.
Lost N Found: Your R&B Night at Que Sera
Que Sera
1923 E 7th St, Long Beach, CA
Saturday, January 24, 2026
If your weekend needs a little rhythm—this is your move.
Lost N Found is an R&B night that blends throwbacks and modern classics in an intimate, cozy setting. Que Sera keeps it classy, the music keeps it smooth, and the crowd usually understands the assignment. And thankfully this event was able to pivot since SALA was not able to host.
This is not a shout-over-the-DJ kind of night. It’s a sway, sip, sing-along-if-you-know-you-know vibe. Perfect for date night, solo nights, or “let’s just see where the night goes.”
Long Beach Events
Long Beach doesn’t always scream for your attention—but when you look a little closer, the good stuff is always there. This weekend is proof: thoughtful events, real community, art that means something, and music that hits where it should.
So go outside. Talk to strangers. Dance a little. Learn something new. Support the people who make this city what it is.
We’ll see you out there.
The Festival of Human Abilities is designed with accessibility in mind, including accommodations such as ASL interpretation and adaptive programming. For other venues, it’s best to check directly with the host if you have specific accessibility needs.
Generally, yes—but parking varies by location. The Aquarium has structured parking nearby. Downtown Long Beach and neighborhood venues may require street parking, so plan a little extra time if you’re heading out in the evening.
It depends. The Festival of Human Abilities is included with Aquarium of the Pacific admission. Some events, like the Harvelle’s 90’s Night or Lost N Found at Que Sera, may require tickets or have cover charges. Always check the event link before heading out.
Yes. The Festival of Human Abilities is great for all ages, and the Arts & Crafts Supply Swap is also family-friendly. The evening music events are better suited for adults, especially those at 21+ venues.
Follow LBC Vibe and check our weekend roundups regularly—we keep an eye on the small, local, community-centered events so you don’t have to.
