Whether you’re into cat art, drag golf, junk journals, outdoor fitness, or pickleball with a tequila chaser, there’s something on this weekend that was made for you.
And yes — FIFA World Cup watch parties are still going strong all over the city. Check your favorite bars and venues for schedules as well as our full guide here, because the energy out there right now is unreal. Long Beach shows up for the World Cup games every single time.
Here are five things to do in Long Beach this weekend.
Art Show: Cat Zine Fest — Opening Night at 4th Fridays
Friday, June 26 – runs through July
6–9 PM (Opening Night)
Cool Cat Collective, 2741 E. 4th St., Suite C, Long Beach, CA 90814
Cost: Free
Tonight is opening night of Cool Cat Collective’s 2nd Annual Cat Zine Fest — and it just happens to fall on 4th Street’s beloved 4th Fridays, which means the Retro Row vibe is already turned up to full. The show runs for four weeks, but there’s nothing quite like being there on night one.
Zines, for the uninitiated, are self-published DIY booklets — short for “magazine” — and they can be about literally anything. For this show, though, there’s one rule: there’s gotta be a cat in it. Creators from around the world submitted their work for this open call, and tonight you get to see what showed up. It’s free, it’s on 4th Street, and it’s the kind of quirky, community-rooted art moment that makes Long Beach feel like the best city on earth.

Open Fairways: The Sync Tour — Los Angeles Classic
Saturday, June 27
12 PM
Watch Me! Sports Bar, 6527 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., Unit B-2, Long Beach, CA 90803
Check @watchme_sportsbar for details
Drag golf brunch. Say it again. Drag golf brunch. Open Fairways is bringing their Sync Tour to California’s first women’s sports bar — and it’s happening while the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship plays on every screen. The event features a chip, putt, and longest drive competition using a mobile simulator from LA Golf Club, with finalists going head-to-head in a lip sync battle for their drive. No experience or equipment needed. Prizes from Callaway Golf, Bogey Boys, and more. Hosted by drag icon Jo-Lopez.
The whole thing is a celebration of queer and trans joy in golf, complete with a conversation featuring athletes and advocates on what golf can learn from LA’s women’s and queer sports culture. It’s big, it’s joyful, and it’s exactly the kind of event Long Beach was built for.

End the weekend the right way — on the courts with a drink in hand. Brand new to pickleball? Perfect. Already have a few matches under your belt? Also perfect. This one’s skill-agnostic and social-first.
