This talk by CSULB Associate Professor of Chicano and Latino Studies, Abigail Rosas, will center on Latine generational knowledges and experiences in the creation and documentation of family histories and creative expression. Focusing on the teaching of intergenerational care, convivencia, and relational approaches to documenting memory and lived experience, the talk explores how creative practice creates space for intersecting ways of knowing and forming identity within an intergenerational approach to history.
More about the presenter: Abigail Rosas is Associate Professor of Chicano and Latino Studies at California State University, Long Beach. Her research and teaching explore comparative and relational ethnic studies, Chicano and Latinx history, urban history, and gender studies. Her book South Central Is Home: Race and the Power of Community Investment in Los Angeles (Stanford: Stanford University Press, 2019) centered on the relational community formation of Latina/os and African Americans in South Central Los Angeles.
