Constellate – 2026 Professional Artist Fellows Exhibition
An Exhibition of Arts Council for Long Beach Professional Artist
Fellows
Constellate brings together an accomplished cohort of artists whose
practices span visual art, poetry, photography, and moving image.
Presented in recognition of the Arts Council for Long Beach
Professional Artist Fellowship Grant awardees in 2026, the
exhibition celebrates artists whose work contributes to the evolving
cultural landscape of Long Beach.
The Professional Artist Fellowship honors living artists who live,
work, or actively create in Long Beach and who have established a
sustained record of artistic exhibition or production and meaningful
impact within Long Beach communities. Fellowship awards
recognize artistic merit, professional achievement, and the
significant role artists play in shaping the cultural life of the city.
The title Constellate evokes both gathering and formation in the act
of bringing distinct points into relationship. Within the exhibition,
each fellow occupies a singular position like a star, shaped by an
individual practice, history, and point of view. Together, their works
create a broader constellation of artistic voices.
Across image, language, photography, and moving image,
Constellate invites audiences to encounter the connections that
emerge between disciplines and perspectives. Works exist
independently while simultaneously entering into dialogue with one
another, revealing intersections of experience, place, memory,
observation, and imagination.
Rather than asking these diverse practices to resolve into a single
narrative, Constellate honors their multiplicity. The exhibition
considers a thriving artistic community as something formed
through both individuality and connection, with each artist
illuminating a distinct position while contributing to a larger cultural
skyline.
