Yes, the Super Bowl in Long Beach is happening. And yes, half the city will be yelling at a screen for three hours like it’s a productive emotional outlet. But if that’s not your thing—or if you’d rather do literally anything else—Long Beach is stacked this weekend with art, music, theater, movement, and genuinely good community stuff.
Here’s what’s happening in Long Beach this weekend on February 7–8, 2026, no football required.
Los Cerritos Wetlands Habitat Restoration Day
Saturday, February 7, 2026
10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Hosted by Aquarium of the Pacific and Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority
Meeting Location: Corner of Pacific Coast Highway & 1st Street, Seal Beach
(Arrive around 10:15 AM)
This is one of those events that actually makes you feel good afterward. Join trained naturalists and educators for a hands-on habitat restoration at the Los Cerritos Wetlands, where volunteers help remove invasive plants, protect rare native species, collect seeds, and clean up trash across 66 acres of wetlands spanning Long Beach and Seal Beach.
It’s free, family-friendly, and open to all ages (kids under 14 must be with an adult). Closed-toe shoes are required. Bring a reusable water bottle—this is a plastic-free event. Participants are also eligible to win free tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific and other prizes. Registration is required in advance.

Seeds of Resilience: Barrio Americano
Opening Celebration
Saturday, February 7, 2026
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Rancho Los Cerritos
Virginia Road, Long Beach, CA
This opening celebration kicks off a powerful year-long exhibition that centers Mexican American histories in the Long Beach region. Seeds of Resilience: Barrio Americano explores how barrios emerged as spaces of care, culture, and resistance following the Mexican American War and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
Through immersive installations inspired by early 20th-century barrio life—homes, neighborhoods, and organizing spaces—the exhibition highlights how everyday environments sustained community in the face of discrimination and unequal access to rights.
The exhibition is part of a citywide reflection tied to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and Rancho Los Cerritos’ ongoing commitment to telling fuller, more honest local histories. RSVP is encouraged.

This intimate family drama unfolds on Easter Sunday in rural Arkansas, where faith, grief, and long-simmering tension collide during one very long day. Produced by Landon Moss Productions, Nodding Off in Church explores the difference between inherited belief and lived experience, asking hard questions without offering easy answers.
Accessibility note: The Studio Theater is on the second floor and accessible by stairs only.

2142 E 4th Street, Long Beach, CA
If you want live music that actually feels lived-in, Red McAdam is worth your time. A New Jersey-born, Flagstaff-based country songwriter, Red brings the kind of authenticity you don’t fake—shaped by years working in national parks, emergency departments, ambulances, and everywhere in between.
His songs pull from real life on the road, heartbreak, recovery, and the kind of characters you only meet when you’ve actually been places. This is country music without costumes or posturing, and 4th Street Vine is the perfect room for it.
