SUMMARY:Flesh&Edibles. Art Exhibit by Linda Estrela Ikeda
DESCRIPTION:Flesh&Edibles speaks directly to the intersection of culinary culture\nand physical vulnerability-themes right at the heart of my professional\nbackground. At the same time\, Flesh&Edibles is a visual exploration of how\nFood we consume directly alters our physique\, minds and how we\nare perceived by our society.\nMy collection was perceived a long time ago even before I went to college.\nIt explicitly illustrates the diverse shapes and physical transformations of\nThe human form based on the biochemical and psychological effects of\nsustenance. It’s a personal project as I was afflicted with an environmental\nmalady since 2020.\nThis subject is not theoretical for me. It’s a lifetime archive of personal survival.\nI have been deeply conscious of what enters my body since I was 12 years old\nDue to a heart condition since I was 12.\nMost recently\, my practice took some harrowing turn in 2021.\nLead Toxicity affected my profession as well as my whole well-being.\nThis art exhibition act as a retrospective of lifelong relationship with bodily\naesthetics and better nutrition.\nI chose to illustrate mostly the beautiful and artistic work.\nI selected to showcase a cohesive body of work for your eyes only.\nActually\, I have been “conceiving” these images since the late 1990’s.\nThese are mostly on the aesthetic sort of views which could be based\non someone’s experiences.\nLinda Estrela Ikeda

SUMMARY:45 Min Sunrise 🌅 Morning Walk 🚶‍♀️🚶 at the Beach 🌊
DESCRIPTION:We meet on the 1st and 3rd Friday each month! Let’s start the day with friends\, fresh air\, and an ocean view. 🌊☀️ This is a feel-good morning walk where we’ll take in the scenery\, get a little nature time\, and ease into the day with good company. We’ll walk at a comfortable\, steady pace and cover about 2 miles in around an hour. \nWe’ll do quick get-to-know-you intros for the first 5 minutes (up to 10 minutes if we have a bigger group)\, then we’ll head out no later than 7:05–7:10 AM. Yes\, 7 AM! Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time. \nWe’ll walk on the sand by the water if conditions allow. If the tide makes the sand too soft\, we’ll switch to the path\, but we’ll try for the water’s edge first. \nCome for the ocean view\, and the chance to meet some great people. 👟🌿 \nSidenote\, dogs are technically not allowed on the beach where we walk\, but if you want to bring your dog\, I have no problem with it. But if you get a ticket\, you can’t blame me! I usually bring my dog. 🐶\nWe usually meet on the 1st and 3rd Friday each month but occasionally change the date due to holidays\, so always check to make sure an event is happening. \n**Meet-up spot:** By the alley next to the Galaxy Towers\, on **Orizaba Ave\, between 1st & Ocean Blvd.** \n**Parking:** Street parking on **Ocean**\, plus plenty of neighborhood street parking nearby (around **1st & Orizaba**) \nSee ya soon!\n🏠❤️ Your favorite Host & House Seller\,\nKimberly Smith\n562-505-7754\nFeel free to call or text with any questions about this event\, group or real estate!\n[www.kbshouses.com](http://www.kbshouses.com/)\nIG: [https://www.instagram.com/tri.coastal/](https://www.instagram.com/tri.coastal/) \n**-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- \nNewsletter: [https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/iStJajf](https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/iStJajf) \n****AGE***\nOur events are for adults only who are over 18. \n****IF YOU CAN’T FIND US -****\nRight before and during the event: Call me (not text) at 562-505-7754 and don’t use the chat function inside meetup as that is hard to check and keep track of right before and once the event is underway! \n****CHECK-IN****\nBe sure to find me and check in on the sign-in sheet for each event so that you are not marked as a no-show. Those members that no-show to 3 or more events will be removed from the group. \n**Do you ❤️ this group?** We are accepting donations to continue to plan and host fantastic events. Use the **DONATE** button on the event page!

SUMMARY:Gretchen Parlato
DESCRIPTION:“Gretchen Parlato has forged a singular voice that honors the deep tradition of jazz while fearlessly advancing it. On her eagerly anticipated Fall 2026 Edition Records release\, The Wise Ones\, Gretchen’s singer-songwriter roots reflect both continuity and evolution\, weaving together jazz\, R&B\, and soul. The album features new collaborations with Robert Glasper\, Gerald Clayton\, Amber Navran of Moonchild and Meshell Ndegeocello. The recording and touring quartet reunites Gretchen with longtime bandmates: bassist\, guitarist\, and vocalist Alan Hampton and drummer Mark Guiliana—alongside pianist Gerald Clayton.\nFeatured on over 85 albums\, and five as a leader\, Gretchen received her first Grammy Award nomination for Live in NYC (2013) and a coveted 4.5 star review from DownBeat Magazine with the DVD hitting No. 1 on the iTunes best music video list. The Lost and Found (2011) received more than 30 national and international awards\, including the DownBeat Jazz Critics Poll No.1 Vocal Album of 2011 and iTunes Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. Her 2009 sophomore release\, In a Dream\, was JazzTimes Critics Poll Vocal Album of 2009 and hailed by Billboard as “the most alluring jazz vocal album of 2009.””
